Eduwaves-Transforming 'd' Education

Mumbai: Students from Welingkar Institute of Management & Research organized a live nationwide ‘Aarakshan’ contest involving the entire cast and crew of the film Aarakshan. The celebrated star cast and crew including legendary Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Manoj Bajpai, Prateik Babbar and Prakash Jha tutored 60 students from across India and conducted stimulating debates, workshops and entertainment sessions at the We-School Mumbai campus.
We School campus transformed into Shakuntala Thakral College (from the movie Aarakshan) for a day and the stars played the characters from the movie throughout the day.
The event started with the welcome address by Actor Amitabh Bachchan followed by the invigorating debate session by Prakash Jha(Director), Prasoon Joshi (Lyricist) and Anjum Rajaballi (Scriptwriter), thrilling dramatics lessons by Manoj Bajpai, graffiti gathering by Prateik Babbar, music lessons by Saif Ali Khan and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio and the fascinating dance lessons by Deepika Padukone.
Enthralled about the event, Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, Welingkar Institute of Management said, “We have been consistently working towards our endeavor for preparing our students to become leading entrepreneurs and leaders in the near future. This mega event has given our students an opportunity to learn organizational and management skills which are the key essentials of becoming a leader. I am confident that such initiatives would enable our students to experience the spirit of ‘learning by doing’ theory and strengthen the platform for budding talent.”
The winners of the contest were chosen after a stringent elimination process and all the participants were awarded certificates at ‘Convocation’ by the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.
